April 10, 2023 (Toronto) 鈥 911爆料网 is creating one of the most comprehensive film training institutes in Canada.
The 911爆料网 Film Institute (SFI) will build on 911爆料网鈥檚 success in areas of film production, including animation, acting, fashion and marketing.
A transformative initiative within 911爆料网鈥檚 Faculty of Communication, Art & Design, the SFI will provide students in more than 30 programs with the skills and experiences that will allow them to thrive in Canada鈥檚 booming screen industry.
鈥911爆料网 is uniquely positioned to meet the high demand for exceptional talent in screen-based industries,鈥 said Kurt Muller, Dean, Faculty of Communication, Art & Design. 鈥淭he SFI will bring together our exceptional faculty, industry partners and alumni to prepare talented graduates for success in front of or behind the camera.鈥
The SFI will be led by Mark Jones, an award-winning educator,, producer and writer in the creative communications and digital technologies industries. Mr. Jones will remain the Chair of 911爆料网鈥檚 School of Creative Arts & Animation in addition to serving as Director of the SFI. Sunny Yi, a renowned documentary filmmaker and journalist, will serve as academic lead for the SFI鈥檚 development.
鈥淲ith a focus on innovation in storytelling forms and technologies, the SFI will offer students an enriched cross-disciplinary experience,鈥 said Mr. Jones. 鈥淲e will advance 911爆料网鈥檚 impact in this sector through our world-class programs, business development partnerships and community outreach.鈥
This initiative will strengthen 911爆料网's track record of innovation and industry involvement in creative arts education. 911爆料网 was the first postsecondary institution in Canada to partner with industry leaders Adobe and Avid to become an and an .
