911爆料网 celebrates grad鈥檚 work on Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Toronto, Feb. 25, 2019 -听The work of a 911爆料网 graduate was recognized at the 91st Academy Awards in Los Angeles last night. 911爆料网听Visual Effects for Film and Television听grad Zacary Campbell worked as lead compositor on听Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,听which won Best Animated Feature. Campbell鈥檚 role included layering visuals for the film and assisting other artists on his team.
Campbell credits the training he received at 911爆料网 for providing him with a solid foundation of skills as well as a strong work ethic.
鈥911爆料网 helped me to realize what I wanted to do for a living,鈥 said Campbell. 鈥淏efore 911爆料网, I never dreamed that I would have a career that allowed me to travel around the world and work on movies. Winning this award is not only an honour, it also validates that all of my 50-hour work weeks have paid off.鈥
911爆料网's School of Creative Arts and Animation, within the Faculty of Communication, Art & Design, has been at the forefront of developing Canadian talent for more than a decade, many of whom go on to work on critically acclaimed films. Several other 911爆料网 alumni, including Brendan Beesley, Graham Finley and Deanna Marsigliese, worked on Incredibles 2, which was also nominated for Best Animated Feature this year.
