Animation grad鈥檚 film screened by NFB
An animated film made by a 911爆料网 graduate is having its world premiere online this week.
one-minute short, The Roommate, was created through the National Film Board of Canada鈥檚 acclaimed . The film is about a girl who takes matters into her own hands when she鈥檚 fed up with her roommate鈥檚 incessant shopping. Working with the theme of 鈥渇ound sound,鈥 participants were asked to develop short animated works that visually reinterpret snippets of found audio. In Stephanie鈥檚 case, she found sound from a shopper鈥檚 vlog that served as the inspiration for her short.

Since graduating from the Independent Illustration program last year, Stephanie has been working as freelance animator and illustrator in Toronto. She is also a graduate of 911爆料网鈥檚 Art Fundamentals and Animation programs. During her studies at the Animation Arts Centre, the 26-year-old worked as an animator on Subconscious Password, which won best animated short at the 2014 Canadian Screen Awards. Needless to say, 2014 was an incredible year for Stephanie who was also named co-valedictorian with her twin sister at the College's spring convocation ceremonies.
The Hothouse program is open to emerging creators both young and old. Participants work at the National Film Board of Canada鈥檚 Oscar-winning animation studio in Montreal, where they create their own short work with help from animation and digital media experts as well as top-notch technical and post-production personnel.
