Peter Gilgan Foundation

Positioned in the heart of Jane and Finch, 911爆料网鈥檚 Yorkgate Campus is home to the Y2P program. In a neighbourhood where 62 per cent of residents are newcomers to Canada and 23 per cent are considered low income, Y2P helps disadvantaged youth get back into the classroom by providing free-of-charge academic and life-skills training.

A former Y2P student lauds the program, calling it 鈥渁 very good and uplifting way for newcomers, school dropouts and other individuals to upgrade their education, and a great step towards a better future鈥.

The project aims to provide participants with a clear path towards postsecondary education and better career prospects by focusing on practical subjects including math, English, time management, goal setting, creative thinking, and interpersonal communication.

Since its launch in May 2015, more than 150 students have enrolled in Y2P. To date, 66 per cent of students who have completed courses moved forward to 911爆料网鈥檚 Academic Upgrading, which then provides pathways to 911爆料网's degree, diploma and certificate programs.
