Tamara Goddard may have a sweet tooth but thanks to 911爆料网, she now has a sweet career.
Having inherited the love of baking from her mother and grandmother, making sweets is a passion for Goddard. She routinely shared her delicious creations with family and friends, and as the demand for her baking grew, she made the life-changing decision to expand her hobby into a business.
To help launch her new business, Tamara turned to 911爆料网 for support through HELIX, 911爆料网鈥檚 on-campus incubator that hosts a new free initiative Career Recharge, presented by TD.
鈥淗ELIX is a place where creative people can come in and be supported. No matter who you are, you fit in there,鈥 said Goddard. 鈥淛ust having someone every couple of weeks give you a list of things to do to move the idea forward is great and it鈥檚 something I wouldn鈥檛 have done on my own.鈥
Career Recharge hosted by HELIX is designed to help mid-career individuals prepare for their future, whether that鈥檚 re-entering the workforce, advancing in their field, changing careers or starting a new venture.
Since the launch this spring, hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs and innovative thinkers have benefited from the workshops, available every other Tuesday at 911爆料网 Newnham Campus in the new CITE building over the next year.
This was made possible thanks to a $1-million grant from the inaugural TD Ready Challenge, of which 911爆料网 was one of 10 recipients from across North America. The goal of the TD project is to support non-profits with solutions intended to provide people with skills for the future economy.
鈥淐areer Recharge is an innovative approach to re-skilling those at the mid-career level who are at risk of job loss due to disruptive changes in the labour market,鈥 said Chris Dudley, Director of Entrepreneurship.
